Amsoil in everything. here's everything you need. brp oil 12 dollars a quart please. you might want to use brp oil filter the Amsoil ones are a little cheaper but do do the job, i bought a few and will use them, but when there gone i'm going with brp.
Man would I love to be able to get my hands on that treasure chest. Trying to to find AMSOIL here in Halifax Nova Scotia is tougher than collecting chicken's teeth. If you ever come up this way - give me a shout.... my quad and I will both appreciate it!!!!

Does this AMSOIL SEVERE GEAR Synthetic Extreme Pressure (EP) Lubricant 75W-90 includes limited-slip case what visco-loc needs? Iam going to but all the way Amsoil products.
Sorry my bad english.
the frt diff does not need limited slip additive. the Visco-Loc is a sealed unit. same with the rear, it is a locked diff.

diesel oils and racing oils have a high zinc content for severe loads. really any quality oil is fine. the deal with the synthetics is longer service intervals. check out "oil thickening". and "viscosity index". i just use Castrol GTX as it is reasonably inexpensive and i change it often as i am in alot of water. if you ride dry trails Amsoil cant be beat as it gives extended drain intervals and the best additives. but pretty much any engine oil will do, if you dont have deep pockets. just have to change it a little more often.

as for the gearcases, i have seen much clearer drain oil by running the same size tire and rim all around. i do use 4x a lot. Castrol 75w-whatever works fine. it is not always about the oil.

Hey im almost coming up to the first oil change i have to do and im curious what everyone runs/recommends for oil? The dealer put in their own "brp" oil but im most likely going to switch to royal purples max life atv oil ( the dealer said its probably better and cheaper then the brp oil)

also i checked my oil and im down a little but im wondering if i can just add off the shelf 5w30 for the time being prior to changing the oil which will happen probably not this weekend but next. (5w30 is what the manual calls for, and im not talking cheap oil but a better quality 5w30 that will be happy with the brp flavor)
Check out the results from an Oil Survey that was done here. A lot of interesting discussion on that thread as well. Click here to direct you to the survey and the various posts >> OIL SURVEY AND ACCOMPANYING POSTS

I run something better then all those brands in my diffs, it's called peanut oil, you can get it at Dick's Sporting Goods or Sam's Club or Costco's, taste good on Turkey's too. LOL JK

I use 5w40 Rottella T Syn oil in my Duramax, Bobcat Tractor and Outty.
Another for Shell Rotella oils you cant loose run it in all my toys from the Harley Ford, Cat Excavator to the Honda z50 pit bike and pressure washer, my dad also ran it in all of his big rigs.

My Can-Am dealer runs Motul 15w50.

Here in Europe if we want to keep the 2 year warranty we have to service at the dealer for that time.

Non the less we could do intermediate oils chances at our own but...

Off-topic: Anybody knows what's the service time by the brp book for the 100h service?

Thanks.

This topic was just re discussed on another board..So I'll make this post for info only.

For those that don't know or haven't heard..The BRP chaincase oil is An ISO-VG 100...Which translates to an 80W-90W. With this being the case any synthetic 75W-90W GL-5 gear oil will do the trick. I have just changed over to Amsoil Severe Gear 75W-90W with 2 oz of Schaeffers moly EP..No more rocking the machine to shift..Its now smooth as butter.

The Rotella T6 5W-40W is the best class 3 ( petroleum base) synthetic you can buy. This is the best deal going right now at $19.50 per gallon at Walley world. I will run this oil year round. I have about 200 miles on this oil and it still looks like the day I put it in. I also like the Amsoil 0W-40W.

For the front and rear differentials any Snythetic 75W-90W GL 5 will work. I'm using Mobil one in My diffs right now. I think I'll switch to the Amsoil Severe gear in my Diff's as I feel it has a better additive package.
