I've yet to find any quad, motorcycle, car or truck in which any wire colored red goes to ground. I'm not saying it's not possible, I'm just saying it's not common.

More than likely, if you have no dash lights, you have no power to activate the solenoid - so it's likely there was nothing wrong with your solenoid.

I'd start looking for the mating part of that red wire FIRST and foremost.

 

It has two post on the solenoid one for the starter and tge other one is a direct wire to the battery so there is power just not getting to the dash I suppose but as soon as I turn the key nothing could it be the solenoid its self then

 

Your dash/ starter button get power from the key switch - which is fed by a continuous hot lead from the the battery. It's likely piggybacked onto the battery terminal of the solenoid. So the fact that your solenoid has power only means that when actuated will give power to the starter. Your starter button has no power as your key switch isn't giving power downstream of it.

 

Haha you sound very smart. Ill run that by my friend who is helping me cause he knows more than I do. This is a pretty big learning curve for me cause I hate electrical just as much as donuts but I still eat them haha
