I got 51 idle 51 part throttle and 40 9000 rpms. Is that normal?

man everyone up here including Kevin run a stock fuel pump...i think it should hold 51psi all the way to 9500 rpm cause at that rpm it is the most criticle....

I don't think the 40 PSI @ 9000 rpms is normal, but maybe I am wrong.

One time I rode around with a fuel pressure gauge duct taped to my dash pod for two days in attempt to catch a gremlin. i watched the gage at every possible rpm/clutch load/engine load scenario that I could come across. The gage never dropped below 49 psi. And it would onlt do it when i went from a rolling start to instant WFO, and it only did it for a second, then it would come back to 51 psi.

I think you need a new fuel pressure regulator. Your pump may be good.

I went through this bull last summer for 3 or 4 weeks, it was a tired regulator.

Ask st8e, he was there when i got towed back to the hard road one steamy-hot summer afternoon.

I have asked Trail Tech if they would make one of their great little gauges for fuel pressure, unfortunately at this stage they have not had enough call for one. Intermittent Low fuel pressure seems to be the only week point in the fuel injection system and I'm assuming that this is the case right across the board with all the ATV and trail bikes. From my novice observations, this tends to be the fuel regulator in bikes that develop a lot of radiant heat back to the fuel tank.

Water temp is measured via resistance in the sensor. If someone can source a pressure sensor and give me the specs on it, I can make a conversion board that will allow us to interface and calibrate the output to make sense on a trail tech display. Maybe trail tech would even sell us the display/mount/wiring at a discount as we wouldn't be using the temp sensor anyway.......?
