I really dont like the flat profile of the duro's. I prefer that rounded shape like the terras or the horns. That is my biggest gripe about the powergrips.

The flat profile is what makes this tire perform so well. The high speed handling on these tires, along with the nice mud performance makes this a very good choice for a tire.

We went on a ride this weekend that covered almost 150 miles in one day and they worked flawlessly.

Here is a thread to our ride, Doodles Gang Ride in Michigan's Upper Peninsula.

By the way, the Can-Am Outlander was the only atv in the group that could yank this toy out of the mud

I have the opportunity to ride on a variety of wheels and tires and these are right up there with the best.

But like you say, you don't like the profile, and leaves you many other tires to choose from.

With the amount of companies producing tires these days you should be able to find something that fits your needs.

Good luck

I have a set of 26" Mud Gear tires from Nebraska Tires, what a differance over the stock tires. I put them on right before Christmas last year and love them. Here is a pic of mine with the new tires beside one with stock tires. Not bad for $318 delivered to my door.

I just got a new set of the Terracross XD. So far so good. They hook up a lot better than stock and I don't get that "push" in the corners near as bad as the stock tires give. However, we don't start our racing season until next month, that's when I will find out the truth. So far though.... no complaints.

I've tried a bunch over the years and the ones I always come back to and run until I wear them down are Mudbugs. They are as light or lighter than a Mudlite with a MUCH better tread for mud. The light weight thing is huge for power loss. I have some 28" Outlaw just sitting in the garage that are better in the goop, but kill a ton of power because of the weight. They also handle like crap on hardpack and are not a smooth trail tire. The Bugs are smooth, clean well in the mud, and LIGHT.

I just checked the website, 28x10 front tires are 10 lbs lighter than the Mudzillas, and the 28x12 rear tires are 12 lbs lighter than the Zillas....EACH TIRE.

FYI: each lb of rotating mass added is the same as adding 7 lbs to the chassis. (old racer theory....I'm sure it is plus or minus....but good rule of thumb)
are you comparing the mudbugs to the zillas in this post??

where are you getting your weights from??

these are what I have seen for the weights of the mudbug and zillas...although they are different size tires...im sure the same size mudbug as the zillas is not going to be 12lbs lighter each tire....I have no idea where you were getting your weights from...

Zillas
28x9x14 = 23.8lbs Front
28x11x14 = 26.7 lbs Rear

Mud Bug R
26x9x14 = 20lbs Front
26x11x14 = 24.8lbs Rear

Mudbug
28X10x12 = 25.6 lbs Front
28X12x12 = 30.6lbs Rear

Stiff

Most likely comparing to the Mudzillas. They used to call Mudzillas 'Zillas for short before the Zillas were released.

I cannot beleive that no one has mentioned the carlisle mud wolfs!! By far my favorite tire on the market, they have seen over 1000 miles and little to no wear!, amazing tire imo, here is a link to another forum so everyone can see the good reviews and some pics of the tire. here is a older picture of my rancher, this is the same day that i put the tires and rims on.

those tires are extremely heavy......you should treat your quad like you would your wife or girlfriend...ride it as often as you can and try to keep as much weight off it as possible...live by those 2 rules and you will love it or her...

AT 25-8-12 27.5lbs
AT 25-11-12 30.2 lbs
AT 26-9-12 28.8 lbs
AT 26-12-12 35.5 lbs
AT 27-9-12 31.7 lbs
AT 27-12-12 35.7 lbs

I have Mudlite XL's on my 400. I have over 4, 000 miles and they are only half worn out, BUT I will never buy them again. Robs to much power for my 400. They do not roll well. They also have a very weak/soft side wall. I will be going to a less aggressive tire possibly 489''s as replacements. I want something that rolls easy and a good all around tire. My 2 cents.
