Runs fine but Won’t move in any gear

I think I did something stupid. On a trail I came across a large fallen tree. I shifted into low range and switched to 4wd thinking I could push the tree out of the trail for my buddies behind me. I don’t recall hearing anything snap. But after a little shove I thought I got stuck on a branch. Tried to back up and I came down a foot or so. Then nothing. It won’t move in any gear, but the belt is still engaging. Even in neutral the motor won’t rev, it acts like it is trying to turn a locked up gear case. It rolls freely in neutral as I had to tow it about three miles back to my truck. While being towed with the engine running, I tried at one opportunity to put it in gear and the tires just dragged in the dirt. Any ideas would be appreciated!

I wounder if you broke the thru shaft that goes through the bottom of the engine but being that it rolls freely in neutral does lead you to beleive a gear box issue. i would disconnect the battery for a few hours then reconnect eliminating the possibility of a 4x4 switch/actuator issue or another electical sencing issue. what year machine is it? i believe if you disconnect the front drive shaft and wiggle the thru shaft on G1 machine youll be able to tell if its split inside there.
