2018 Maverick trail, replaced battery, solenoid and relay and still get one clicking sound when you turn the key and no starter cranking. Any ideas on next steps?
Thanks,

unscrew the spark plugs and try to crank the starter
Have id'd the problem as a bad ground somewhere, occasionally will not start in P but will start in N.
Went thru all connections and tightened everything down will start but again the problem of not starting all the time in P is still there.
Bad sensors? or?
Any ideas?

maybe you don't fully turn on the Park? if you press the brake on any gear, how does it start?
starts in P or N without stepping on the brake, has done this since new
do you see which gear turned on the dashboard?
dashboard shows correct gear, P or N when starting

then there is a suspicion of the ignition lock and the starter relay
starter relay has been replaced, ignition lock? is there a way to test it?

what type of lock do you have? button or keys?
it is necessary to remove the lock and try to connect the wires directly, but I do not know your abilities as a mechanic, so it is better to entrust it to professionals if you are not sure
will remove lock and reconnect all wires and make sure I have solid connection, no problem
Hopefully it solves the problem
Thanks

not quite like this
you have to connect wires without ignition lock by something iron
and if you connect wires several times wires and starter rotates each time, the problem is with ignition lock
unscrew the spark plugs and try to crank the starter
