In Topic: Heated hand grip advise

04 November 2019 - 02:10 PM

I've never seen only one grip for sale. I don't know who makes Can Am branded grips. You could try messaging a company like Heat Demon and see if they will sell only one. I would think most any brand would work with the controller.
But, mine have a high/low toggle switch and dual element pad. Not sure if they would work as well with a controller. I now use the stick on elements and use whichever grip I want. I got tired of replacing heated grips when they wore out. Now I can just replace cheaper grips or use lock on ones if I want.

Can you give me a link to the stick on elements you are referring to? Are they reliable, so far? Any idea if they fit under ODI grips?

In Topic: Best oil grade to use

I have a stock 800 bottome end with over 81,000 miles. Last time I had the crank out it measured less than .0002" of wear on all bearing journals.
I have run every type and brand of oil known to man, and  I have even mixed dead dinosaurs with semi-synthetics and full synthetics, I have topped my crankcase off with what ever oil I had on my shelf at the moment.

Oil brand and type means nothing. Period.

Use a quality oil and keep it clean.
Change it often and replace oil filter with new every time.

Your bike is not a submarine, keep it out of the water.

I run Shell Rotella T-5 15w-40 because it's 15 bucks a gallon at Walmart.

The people that say they run the "best" oil because someone said it's the "best" are full of kaka.
They drank the Cool Aid.

Run Amsoil...[emoji1787]

I had a Gen ! PS unit on one of my bikes.
I took it off because ?I actually felt it was dangerous and someone (me?) was going to get hurt on that bike.
Took bike back to non-PS, and sold the bike a year or so later.

I rode that bike and definitely agree with you!! I’m thinking/hoping they worked those bugs out with the Gen 2 unit. It’s just a costly gamble if it isn’t what I am hoping it is! Plus all the labor Shortmag will have into shoehorning this thing around all the add-on BS already taking up too much real estate under my gauge pod...

Just my .02 on Neutron’s

I bought 3 pairs of them a while back from Rocky Mtn...I used them on the rear of my Outlander. I blew through them about as fast as the stock brake pads...Great price, but (for me) didn’t last long. I went back to EBC’s and they have been there for 3 years...
