Hey Looker wanted to pile on the info 25th mentioned.  BTW I'm the buddy he mentioned with the same setup.

I have the same idle issue erratic-- 900 then 1200, then 1400 but I started fouling plugs if I let it idle too long. Clearly too rich at idle. But under power no black soot at all and runs good. Gas mileage sucks.  Gotta figure this one out

25th will have some good info from the AFR testing that I hope we both can use.  As an aside I have a 2016 Rene 1000R with a few more goodies in it but had the ECM flashed by RVS and no programmer.  He tweaked it a second time as I had a little flat spot up top but it runs pretty good and NO programmer. Plugs are perfect! I hope to get it on a dyno before the summer is upon us. .

Listen to Shortmag.  He is the foremost authority on many things but maybe none more so than Clutches.  He was my adviser on clutch choice and trust me when I say it was spot on and truly changed my 1000.

There is always a temptation to add parts and to work the status quo into a better solution and maybe there is incremental gains to be had. But while some primaries are not necessarily inexpensive, there is true beauty in a plug and play solution that performs beyond expectation. I much prefer to be riding that wrenching!

I have a complete Ron Woods Racing system (headers and muffler) and the Supertrapp spark arrestor with discs for sale.  It can be loud without the arrestor & disc's, which is how I ran it for racing and trail riding, it sounds pretty awesome.  It was rated the highest HP gain on the 800 of its time.  Its in great shape.  PM me if interested.
