My wife 650 has a solid tick noise that i have somewhat pin pointed down to the front jug. Seems like the noise is at camshaft speed. I removed primary clutch (stock) thinking that this was where the noise was from orignally but still is there. I have rechecked the valve lash and is set properly at 004 and 006 cold. Also removed chains and inspected guides they are in good shape and threads are 5 showing on tentioners. It seems as the bike warms up the noise fades slightly but is most proment at idle. Add some throttle and it seems to go away. I did noice the rockers have side to side play which when i rock back and for seem to be close to the sound im hearing. I know they need some side to side play just unsure of how much side to side is to much. I know these bike do have some piston slap but i dont think thats the noise im hearing. Any other input of what i can check before i start tearing motor down to see if its a rod knock or something else
Thanks bike has 7100 miles.http://cloud.tapatal...14881806937.mp4

It's called piston slap.
It ALWAYS starts on the piston skirt on the front jug and intake side.
There is nothing you can do about it short of new jugs and pistons.
This is most likely why there are so many choices of aftermarket pipes for Can Am bikes.
Your bike will run for a very long time in this condition until it gets so annoying that little kids cover their mouths and point at you when you buzz past them.

I'm interested in hearing your before and after video. i have a 2011 800 xxc making a ticking noise, either piston slap or valves would be nice to compare it to yours.
