I am WAYYY apprehensive on this system because of the issues with the Gen1 system! I realize the 2nd Gen might be "better", but it's a pretty big chunk of change to put down for a "should work" scenario!

*QSC Primary, STM Secondary
*Precision Steering Stabilizer, Flexx Bars (w/ anti-vibe inserts), Bopp Anti-Vibe stem

*The countless amount of custom "tweaks" that 7Shortmag has done to it!

I've read of them taking the units back from customers who weren't satisfied.
You only live once man, if you don't like it you can go back to stock.

You could throw more money at it and go to an oem setup. We both know who to talk to for guidance.
If you really like your machine...it would be better than buying a new one for power steering.

I know...I know...

I have explored all options...

Just hard to pull the trigger!

A lot of work (for 7shortmag) and $$ if I go the OEM route (which I know will be right).

Can always use it as an excuse to trade up to a new machine!

Oh I have CERTAINLY been exploring that, too...

But the only machine I would consider was only made one year!!

I reckon you both need to come into the world of DPS and do a fit up topic on the subject and get some good feedback on the units happening.

It's only money and that's pretty easy to come by these days.

If you read the reviews on SuperATV, most are very good.  Had a friend with it on a 09 Renegade.....no issues.  Know several who have used it on Mavericks and Commanders......no issues.

For $500 or whatever it cost, that is much less than trading for an XXC model!

I put the Superatv power steering on a 2010 Renegade 800r.  In summary, I loved the feel of the power steering.  Eliminated kick back, perfect amount of assist.  Then it sheered in half at the splines / motor during the Snowshoe GNCC.  Not good.  Superatv was great and send me a newly designed unit that fastened better.  But the problem then was the power steering gave WAY TOO MUCH assist.  Yes it was hooked up properly.  It was not rideable fast in the woods by me with that much assist.  So I took it off, sold the quad and bought a XXC with OEM power steering.  Much better.

Superatv is a great company and backs their products.  But in my opinion, unless they changed the design again, and this applies to the quad (not UTV), for normal trail riding and muddin' the aftermarket may be okay.  For very fast trail riding or racing, stick with OEM.

Hi Everyone

Time for an update. Just come back from San Rafael Swell and Moab.

I have to let you know that the EPS has about 1080 miles on it and its still performing great.

On this last trip the trails were so hard and rough 8.7 out of 9 and 7.3 that I was constantly thinking that something will

break but, Thankfully nothing did.

Just a quick update on the EPS.

Its almost 3 full years since i've installed this Super ATV's 2nd generation power steering.

Racked up over 4000 miles of some rough Utah trails (mostly Moab)and it still performs with no problems.

i have installed 2nd unit on my wife's 500 Rene and she has about 1000 miles on it with no problems.

I feel that this was the best addition for the money to our atv's. Save me from spending boat load of $$$$ on new machines. LoL.biggrin.png

Also great addition was to put side engine covers (black plastic body panels under the seat on both sides) adapted from 2018 Outlander 570. Those reduce the amount of engine heat on your legs by ??? A LOT!

it also make the bike much quieter to the rider.

This is all I've got for now.

PLAY HARD, RIDE HARD

Sweet!!!

I've recently aquired an 07 Outlander Max for a second bike and I really really miss the DPS when riding it.

I was checking out just what it's going to cost me for the kit the other day.

Thanks for the update and great pics.beerchug1.gif

I had a Gen ! PS unit on one of my bikes.

I took it off because ?I actually felt it was dangerous and someone (me?) was going to get hurt on that bike.

Took bike back to non-PS, and sold the bike a year or so later.
