So thought I would try and stir things up a bit around here with a new build thread!  Last time I did any sort of engine swap was an 07 800 Outlander engine in a 2007 Rhino!  That was fun, but now onto something new!

Picking up a 2011 Outlander 800 XXC Friday with just under 900 miles on it.  Has full skids, a-arm guards, winch, and a few ugly chrome stickers , along with IRS offset wheels all around, so its as wide as a Maverick!  Ill remove the garbage and wheels, and get started this weekend on the swap.

Plan is:

-reman 1000R engine from Nick Coleman

-HMF G1000 Full Exhaust (made specific for this application!)

-BRP OEM 54mm Throttle Body from 1000R engine

-BOM Racing reflash

-PCV dyno tuned locally

-XMR stealth snorkels

-QSC Rev X on the shelf already!

-29.5 assassinators or 30" silverbacks

I opted to keep things simple, and go all stock......stock cams, stock compression, stock 1000R intake, nothing fancy.  I figure I wont get the 101hp the engine is rated at, but if I get even 90 or so in the sweet G1 chassis, Ill be happy!  My good friend has the dyno, and although he is very familiar with PCV tuning, he has not tuned a CVT machine before, nor an atv.  Most of his tuning is on mini sprints, sprints, and stock cars.  We will run a baseline with stock engine.stock clutching to compare to the finished product,

Pics coming soon!  Also, IF anyone needs or know of someone needing an 800R engine, this one will be available this weekend!  Please PM me if interested!

So your going to turn an xxc into a xmr? Would be way cooler to keep it an xxc with 1000r motor. But that's just my opinion.

Oh my................... those XXCs' are few and far between, only made for one year.

Some people say that was the best bike BRP ever made.

I agree with story 5253

Well,

I do some trail riding in the cooler temps, and ride in the water when its really hot......so the XMR snorkels are just for a safety net.  I am not a mudder at all, but paddle tires propel you like no other in the water.  So maybe not quite an XMR, but some of the features of it are nice!

It'll have 2 sets of tires/wheels to run on......so those shocks will still see some duties!!!  I wanted a G1 with power steering for my base, and this thing is a bonus with the shocks/handlebars/etc., so I think it'll be great when its done!
