Been working on a little project with my wife. She wanted power steering and didn't want to be the pack mule anymore so she took over the Renegade and I found a new to me Outty.

This is what we started with '11 Xxc

Tore all the color off and then some. Had a few things to fix as always. I took over the fixing and she worked on tear down.

The hardest part was keeping all of her anticipation contained for the 3 weeks we had to wait for hydro graphics. I went with a powder coater that is new in town, female owned and operated. The owner, Tammi was thrilled to use this color and my wife was even more excited when parts started piling up.

I was able to assemble most everything as became available, every thing except for the plastics and the seat which were 2 hours away. We they were finished up earlier this week and we were able to pick them up today.

The whole project was aimed towards "Tiffany blue" but the road to that started with a Cerekote color called "robin egg" the powder was matched to that and the Cerekote even managed to make its way onto the fender vents and the filler neck trim and matching trim on the left side. The hood was painted black by the Liquid Visionz Hydrographic. They had to go back in time a bit to match the teal, ended up being a '50s era color. ( I'm sure some of you can confirm that LOL) the side panels were hit with the teal base and then overlaid with a carbon fiber dip. They nailed everything perfectly the pictures do no justice to the detail on the side panels, hand guards, and intake. Finally we found a great upholstery place that ironically had a small piece from a '55 chevy that matched very well. The fit and finish on the seat is top notch.

And last but not least the whole rig had to pass one final test. Does she like it? It surpasses every expectation she had. Well the as for now the Queen is happy and there is peace in the kingdom. I hope the have my sister take some quality photos but for right now it's just phone pics. I know it's not most people's cup of tea but it's definitely one off!

Pretty sweet! My wife is a mudder like me, so she gets no fancy powdercoats/paints....LOL. (she wanted a green quad, so she got that....haha)

Pain or damage don't end the world. Or despair, or f*cking beatings. The world ends when you're dead. Until then, you got more punishment in store. Stand it like a man... and give some back.

That's a great looking machine Austin! And I agree they hit the seat out of the park. Been thinking of having mine redone as its looking pretty worn, what was the name of the place that did that? Usually guys have them done and they look like shiiiiit.

Mid-Iowa Truck and Upholstery.

They talked about just replaced the yellow panels but the labor would have been more and the original cover was showing its age a bit, so we elected to do the whole cover. They pulled it plenty tight, it's a bit harder to get it snapped in.
