Have a chance to get a 2015 xmr1000 with 1650 Kim's with a cvt clutch ,can am snorkel mostly trail ridden in very good shape or a 2017 xmr 850 new for $600 more. What's the better choice the extra horsepower or the newer shorty?

undoubtedly the 1000 is a beast, but id go with skioutty on this one unless you know the owner. A lot of damage can occur in a couple of years riding.

There's a good chance the 2017 850 is faster than the 2015 1000. the new models have the newer Mav heads and i think Throttle body, could also be more responsive to other mods like exhaust given there is more air available to let that engine breath. i recently rode with a guy that had the new 850, its substantially faster than the 800r. So to me its a no brainer go with the new 2017 850.

The 850 makes the same power as the old 1000.

Hmmm used one thousand or new 850. You never know what someone has done to a used machine. It maybe $600 less now but in a couple months it may be $1000 more. Go new make it yours.

What year did Can Am go away from that goofy air suspension? I wouldn't buy a mud machine with that on it....

Either way, I agree with the choice to get the new one.

Pain or damage don't end the world. Or despair, or f*cking beatings. The world ends when you're dead. Until then, you got more punishment in store. Stand it like a man... and give some back.
