So let me get this straight.......................

The new 2016 850 has a big throttle body and Mav heads, correct?

What about the 2016 1000R?

Does it have a bigger throttle body and Mav heads also?

No, the ATV 1000R isn't the same as the mav 1000R

I see.

So next scenario:

Will a bike with an 850 with Mav heads and opened TB smoke the same comparable bike with a 1000R?

I have a real hard time believing the only difference on the 2016 1000 is a larger throttle body and intake, same old heads and cams but the new 850 gets maverick heads, bigger TB and a new intake, ""?

Manufactures are currently limited to 1000cc. Soooo, they are just buying time with little crap.

That will leave something for BRP to do when another manufacturer gets the HP advantage.  They can add those changes to the 1000 as sort of an ace in the hole.

I just read an article in go riding mag saying that the 2016 1000r does indeed have maverick heads.

Here is the article.I don't know where they got there info.

89-HP ROTAX 1000R
A revised, liquid-cooled, 976cc, 89-hp Rotax 1000R V-Twin engine is the most powerful ATV engine in the Can-Am family and leads the big-bore market in performance. For 2016, the flagship Rotax 1000R has an additional 7 horsepower (9% power increase). Can-Am engineers added new pistons, a Can-Am Maverick side-by-side vehicle engine head and throttle body.

Once again they do not have maverick heads. Only the 850. The can-am website has the 2016 parts fiche updated. It has 27 and 31mm valves. I also already know the race department within have dissambled a new 1000r engine and indeed it has the same heads as previous models.

That's a good possibility, the xmr must have maverick heads. Not sure why it would have them but the other 1000r models would not.

How can it use maverick rocker and keepers? They will only fit maverick. The brp site is all jacked up. It lists 31 and 27mm valves with the maverick 36.5 and 31 size part numbers.

ok so what makes the sxs 101hp crank mav motor that much more powerful then the new 1000R motor that only has 89 crank hp... thats 12 crank hp more in the sxs mav motor... the quads wont see the sxs mav motor power for quite some time...
