Mount a GoPro Hero HD on the fourwheeler for the on the ride filming and you can use it as a still camera or video camera while staying waterproof. I also pack along a sony handycam in a pelican case which s also waterproof. No matter where im at the videocamera, GoPro and my cell phone are watertight at all times.
If you see a moose out riding, don't be alarmed! It's only me :)

I use a Hero GoPro mounted on my helmet for riding action shots. I use a Canon S3IS to do video of jumps and mud holes where I can stand and video others. I'm thinking of getting an Olympus Tough or FujiFilm XP10 for mounting on my front rack extender.

The Hero HD is nice. I put a mount on the front and back of my quad and one on my helmet. Took it to Hatfield and McCoy a few weeks ago and the video quality was great. Even had a broke mount in the box and they sent a new one right out to me. For pics and hand held video I use a Panasonic DS1, waterproof, shockproof, etc an records HD also. Both of these cameras have held up to some ugly conditions.

A couple of video's from the trip.

Haven't got anything quite so hi tech as a helmet cam yet.

But I do carry a HD Sony handycam, you wouldn't believe the waterproof setup I have...I like the camera handy when we're riding, so I don't miss those great moments, so I use these......

Camera is hooked to a strap around one shoulder and over head, then zipped up in the bag, it's water and mudproof and accessible in seconds.

Go ahead, call me a redneck.

And yes, I have used a screwdriver to open a door in my house...

Yeah I have been quite impressed with the GoPro HD, it even took a hit from a big tree branch, hard to remember to duck so low, that knocked it almost flat against my helmet. No damage to it at all.

Second video is Little Coal system out of Logan. Yeah, the rain was nice, it kept the dust down for the first couple of days. A few semi-challenging black trails that have steep rocky climbs and quite a few WOT sections that are a lot of fun.

Yep, I did the same thing a couple times. Makes a great sound on the video when you hit a branch. I think the main part of the cost of the GoPro is the Polycarbonate case they designed for it. It takes a beating.

Moose, here is a tree branch one for you. The second one was the big one..lol.. This was on a black trail at H & M. Not super steep or technical. But difficult enough that I didn't like backing down it quickly.....

LOL..yeah...really fun to watch now. But when you are part way up a black rated trail and all of sudden have to start backing down to avoid being hit by a run away quad...good times!
